Calendar

When you open ExcelCal and enable macros the default Calendar worksheet will open along with the Calendar Menu in the Excel Ribbon.

You can use the Calendar Menu to create, view and customize your calendar.

Create Calendar

The calendar always opens up by default set to this month and this year.

The default resource is always set to “Organization”. If you are not interested in resources then just remember is that the Organization is the default bucket for all general holidays.

Here are some of the menu items available on the Calendar menu

  1. ExcelCal button – This button when clicked fully refreshes the Calendar.



  2. Holidays button – You can click on this button to add holidays and setup resources.



  3. Resource select dropdown – Selecting a resource will refresh the calendar based on the resource holidays and weekends.



  4. Year select dropdown – Selecting a year will refresh the calendar based on the year selected.



  5. Month select dropdown – Selecting a month will refresh the calendar based on the month selected.



  6. Navigate Left and Navigate Right buttons – Clicking on these buttons will set and refresh the calendar to the previous month or the next month.



  7. Themes select dropdown – Selecting a theme will instantly update the calendar based on the theme selected. You can also select the last Custom option to set your own custom colors for the calendar.



  8. Show Holidays Checkbox – This checkbox toggles the Holidays in the calendar.



  9. Show Weekends Checkbox – This checkbox toggles the Non-working days in the calendar.



  10. Show Today Checkbox – This checkbox allows you to turn on or off the Today indicator in the calendar.



  11. Settings button – You can click on this button to set up your own custom colors for the calendar.



  12. Print button – You can click on this button to bring up the print dialog window.



  13. PDF button – Clicking on this button will generate a PDF version that you can share with your colleagues or clients.



  14. XLSX button – You can click on this button to generate an excel file that you can share with your colleagues or clients.
